To optimize the perceived value of a used piece of furniture with a $100 budget. Over 4 weeks, this $25 thrift store find was transformed to a valuable piece with added design elements and comfort.

The consensus of the initial phase of the project was that to raise the perceived value, the chair must:

-Retain its inherit positive traits such as the wood grain and solid construction

-Have comfort added to it through use of attached seat and back cushions

-Aquire a superior wood finish while eliminating

scratches and other imperfections
